In a serious crackdown, license of 18 pharma corporations have been cancelled for manufacturing of spurious medicines following inspection by Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) on 76 corporations throughout 20 States, Health Ministry sources instructed The Hindu.
A supply instructed PTI that the stated motion has been taken towards 76 corporations within the first part of a particular drive towards the manufacture of substandard drugs.
“Licences of 18 pharma corporations have been cancelled for manufacturing spurious and adulterated drugs and for violating GMP (good manufacturing observe)…. Besides, 26 firms have been given show-cause notices,” an official supply instructed PTI.
According to PTI as half of the particular drive, the regulators have recognized 203 firms. A majority of the businesses are from Himachal Pradesh (70), adopted by Uttarakhand (45) and Madhya Pradesh (23).
