Officials of the Women Development and Child Welfare (WD&CW) Department have been celebrating ‘Poshan Maah’ utsavams within the Anganwadi Centres throughout the State.
“Poshan Maah’, aimed at enlightening moms on the significance of taking a nutritious weight loss program, was being celebrated in about 55,600 Anganwadi Centres, stated the WD&CW Department officers.
During ‘Poshan Maah’, dieticians and medical doctors will clarify to pregnant and lactating girls the necessity to take nutritious diet, stated Krishna District WD&CW Project Director, S. Suvarna.
“Instructions have been given to the Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs), Anganwadi supervisors, staff and ayahs to show the YSR Sampoorna Poshana Kits and clarify to the beneficiaries the significance of consuming dietary weight loss program,” the PD instructed The Hindu on Sunday.
“In all, 1,707 Anganwadi Centres are there in Krishna district, wherein 15,954 pregnant and lactating girls have been enrolled in eight tasks,” Ms. Suvarna stated.
The CDPOs and the Anganwadi workers will conduct conferences and show milk, leafy greens, pulses and eggs through the utsavams, the PD stated.
“The dieticians will clarify the significance of consuming millets, ragi malt, chikkies and different nutritious meals to the moms,” Ms. Suvarna stated.
