EXCLUSIVE: UK movie outfit Lightbulb Film Distribution has picked up well-received Sundance sci-fi comedy Something In The Dirt, marking the corporate’s largest acquisition so far.

Shot throughout the pandemic, the intimate movie is directed by and starring Aaron Moorhead and Justin Benson, the filmmaking duo behind Synchronic and The Endless.

For their fifth function, the pair have taken on a meta thriller. When neighbours John and Levi witness supernatural occasions of their Los Angeles condominium constructing, they realise documenting the paranormal may inject some fame and fortune into their wasted lives. Down an ever-deeper, darker rabbit gap, their friendship frays as they uncover the risks of the phenomena, town and one another.

The deal was negotiated with Tatyana Joffe of XYZ Films. Lightbulb plan to launch the movie theatrically in This autumn.
