 Urvashi in ‘Appatha’

“Appatha”, a Tamil film directed by director Priyadarshan, has been chosen because the opening film on the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Film Festival.

Starring Urvashi, the upcoming film is billed as “a fantastic story of an unlikely bond” which sows the values of respecting your dad and mom and discovering oneself.

According to a press launched issued Wednesday, the screening of “Appatha” will likely be held in Mumbai on January 27 at Films Division Complex.

Priyadarshan stated the group is “honoured” that his directorial has been chosen because the opening film on the competition.

“I would really like to thank my producers Jio Studios and Wide Angle Creations for bringing this easy and wonderful story to me. It has been a pleasure collaborating on this film and great to be working with an exceptional expertise like Urvashi on her milestone 700th film.

“Appatha is one thing totally different from something I’ve tried earlier and I’m trying ahead to seeing to how the audiences react to it,” the acclaimed filmmaker stated in a press release.

The film is written by Hardik Gajjar with screenplay by Priyadarshan and Deepthi Govindarajan.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization Film Festival is organised by Government of India, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting by way of the National Film Development Corporation in affiliation with the SCO Council of Heads of States.

The film extravaganza will come to an in depth on January 31.
